This vigorous evergreen vine requires a frost free location. Pink flushed white flowers are incredibly fragrant and can be enjoyed from early spring through mid summer. Prune to shape in late fall or winter. Prune hard if controlled height is desired.

A true species (not a cultivar) native to valleys and forests of southwest China (Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan) and Myanmar. A vigorous evergreen twining climber bearing masses of reddish-pink buds that open to intensely fragrant, star-shaped white flowers about 3/4" across, red-tinged on the reverse. Pinnate foliage of 5-7 glossy leaflets, dark green above and lighter beneath. Blooms heavily in late winter into early spring (Jan-Apr). RHS Award of Garden Merit recipient; excellent for trellises, arbors, fences, pergolas, and containers. Frost-tender - cannot tolerate freezing, so grow as a container/conservatory plant outside zones 8-10. Note: naturalized and considered weedy/invasive in parts of Australia and New Zealand, so it's best kept to cultivation and pruned after flowering. Fragrance: Intensely sweet, among the most fragrant of all jasmines.
